Next, speaker placement. People will sometimes complain that the sound is "off". Often this is a matter of speaker placement. Be sure that your front right and left channel speakers are equidistance from the screen center and placed at a 45 degree angle from the listeners ears. If your space allows it, position the right and left channel speakers twelve feet from each other.

Additionally, when looking for your first system or contemplating a new, upgraded system you may run across wireless surround speakers. Steer clear! The sound quality on these speakers is poor as compared to their wired brethren. Plus, if you live in a populated area the frequency of your speakers might overlap with nearby cell phones and other wireless devices. That is a certain recipe to drive you nuts! Wireless is a cool technology but avoid it with surround systems.
